It's HAPPY BIRTHDAY time..

I love Sunday afternoons, where I can play catch up.. I realize it's been some time now since I have updated this blog, and still have so much more to do... but in time, hopefully I can say I've caught up! Ryan commented today about how I take so many pictures, which I cant help! I mean, someone has to capture the moments no one wants to forget, whether they get posted or not!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM...

October 20th, 2011

Ha, ha, I can so relate! I solidly maintain that one day my family will thank me for all the memories I have captured on film/digital. If not thank me, certainly be glad for them.

I remind them of that ALL the time:) Actually, a couple years ago I got the brilliant idea (to me, at least) to create a huge scrapbook of memories of us girls over the years/with personal letters from each of us etc. and presented it to Mom for her 50th birthday. Just about ALL the photos came from my collection... and if it werent for me, yup... this NEVER would have happened. It was so much fun.. and I was even more excited to present it to her!!

You just never know when photos will come in handy:) So, I will continue in what I love to do best!

You remind me of myself Aimee. Pictures were always so important when the boys were growing up and to me they still are. Some of my enthusiasm to do it has been taken away but in my heart I love and want to take pictures of my family. Such beautiful memories. Don't let anyone take that from you, keep on clicking that camera!

:-) A blog (well the author) I enjoy reading regularly, recently posted that one of her goals was to "take at least 30 pictures of her children" as they are missing important memories.
I couldn't even begin to relate, couldn't wrap my head around that needing to be a "goal" :-)

I always felt I may not have a lot to leave my children but to me pictures are a gift of memories. I can't imagine having to have a "goal" to take pictures either, it's a joy now to look back over the years. I hope my boys will some day enjoy them when they look at their lives in photos.

Auntie, In relation to a comment you left in another post about "Every birthday is a celebration!" It truly is. Birthdays have ALWAYS been a BIG DEAL in our family.. My parents have always loved to make our birthdays very special. Since we have gotten older, and all have jobs.. I find that we "give back" so much more..

Yea, thats pretty sad about setting a goal of 30 pictures..Im camera happy, and probably always will be. No goals needed here:) I love to reminisce with pictures, and recreate an event with scrapbooking. They are conversational pieces too.

I saved so many things of the boys when they were little. Now I've started passing on things to Logan, whether it's an outfit or a toy and each time, with it goes a picture of his daddy with it. I don't know about them but it sure makes me feel good that I have the picture to pass on and the occasion that the picture was taken. Have fun taking pictures!
