Summer Sundays...

Life is sooo busy, and its so easy to get caught up that we dont stop to cherish moments with people that mean so much to us:

-FAMILY-

This summer has been gorgorous, so on Sundays, which seems to be the main day when we all can be together due to schedules, we have taken advantage of some cooking out.

Mom, Dad, Ange, Steve, Ash and Ryan...

 My little man.. "laying out in the sun."

And, Dad...preparing the meat... that well, didnt go quite at planned. The backup plan was put into use instead:-)



All in all, a beautiful day :-)

As I get older..

I realize more everyday just how much my sisters mean to me.

We're not only sisters, but friends & I cherish that!

Without fail, mom has her special dates marked!

I was a bit sentimental about turning 28, not so much about becoming a year older but just the fact that I had such a wonderful 27th year and wasnt ready to leave it. Not having a choice in the matter, I decided that I will just take on 28... and make it better yet :-)

Thank you to family for helping to make it special and to all those that sent messages and cards!

Father's Day

On Father's day this year, having to work the weekend.. I decided to squeeze in a lasagna dinner for Dad and had the Grandparents over too. Grandma's birthday was 2 days prior, so I made her a cake to tie everyone in!

Mother's Day Weekend

A Special Mother's Day Weekend...

What a wonderful time spent with many mothers and their daughters at a "Mother/Daughter Banquet." They say there were about 300 in attendance. The fathers of some of these families/of the church, and young people served all us ladies... We were told to keep them busy, and we did. :) They really stepped up to the plate in their white pressed shirts, some with black vests etc and all black pants. I know the focus wasnt totally on us daughters, as we were there to help honor our mothers, but I have to say.... it was a bit out of my league to be served and waited on like they all did. While eating dessert... we enjoyed the ministry of Paula Dunn in music and speaking.

Sunday, Ashley fixed a delicious meal for Mother's Day.. and thought that this also may be the last time shes able to host for a little while, as time is drawing near. :) Thank you SO much Ashey for such a wonderful time together!

 ...And then it was "Mom" time..

When I think about mom and everything she does, her unconditional love, and her giving spirit (Side note: I must have gotten this from her), I am reminded of just how important Mom is to me. It's amazing to have watched over the many years all the tasks/responsibilities that a mother has when she doesn't really seem to even have time for herself, and realize that MY mom is that Super Mom. From making sure we brushed our teeth in the am before school, having freshly ironed clothes at the end of our beds, lunches made, getting us off to school, helping with homework, having dinner on the table when Dad got home from work after a long day at work herself, evening fun times at the park, baths before bed, story time from our favorite books, to... Educating us on things that matter, teen years, crushes on boys, helping us strive for our dreams, being there during those milestone moments, and when times were difficult and we felt like our worlds were caving in, she was there ready to listen, wipe our tears, and give us that hug that we so desperately needed with reassurance that Mom was there for us!

A mother's love... cannot be measured ( I am told), and I hope that one day, I may have the privilege of knowing that LOVE... to give to my children.

Thank you Mom for being You.

I hope I can be even half as good as you are!

Now, I couldnt pass this one up... a "Mother-to-be in the making..." REAL soon!I felt that she deserved to be recognized too!

Mom put together an album of all of the baby shower photos for Ash so that these moment may be cherished, and referred back to when needed. We spoiled her with some Lavendar Epson Bath Salts and some Lavendar Aveeno lotion to help destress after Baby is born, some Lindt chocolate and a few more baby outfits...

 *

I know this looks big.. but what baby goes home perfectly fitting their first outfit...?

I think he'll be pretty pleased ;-) ;-)

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to some very Special people in my life!

In Preperation for a Bundle of Love...

Since last October when I recieved word that I'd be gaining a new title in the months to follow, Ive been really excited ! So often I thought that it was a dream... "Surely, my youngest sister wasnt going to be a mommy just yet.. I mean she's the YOUNGEST of all things." Reality started to set in when I saw the obvious... a small baby bump. :-) We faithfully followed the weekly updates of baby being compared to the sizes of fruits or vegetables etc. Several weeks, we took pictures to compare from the previous weeks, found that I was placing my hands on her belly to try and feel for any movements any time I saw her ( when I knew she could start feeling movement, that is). I can remember the VERY first time I felt baby move/ and better yet kick... and he kicked hard. It was then that I was reminded of how awesome God's creation is... that he would bless my sister with a little bundle of love,  one so full of life while still in the making... A precious little life just waiting for his time of arrival... It's amazing.

With the passing months and preperation of Baby Matthew Jhett, a baby shower was in order!!

A lot of time with mom....returning to SPECIFIC stores 10 (+) times/bouncing to others to compare prices, colors, etc, tiresome days/evenings as we put "life aside" to get this put all together, frequent phone conversations to discuss ideas we had,  and plenty of clutter/messes were created. My poor table for weeks was like this... and figured, why bother cleaning up when it will all come back out tomorrow...I knew this too would pass...

TODAY, Ashley is 35 weeks... shes looking forward to this being  over with... well, the pregnancy part of it... and then the fun begins:)

We are ALL looking forward to the arrival of a bouncy boy into our family...

St Patty's weekend has been a celebration set aside for Dad, as his birthday was yesterday. With several different schedules, we decided to split the occassion to accomodate everyone.

We all went out for a nice dinner of his choice yesterday and had cake and icecream today:)
