Computer illness

You think the light at the end of the tunnel is near...
and then domino theory happens all over again.

Very sick.... I don't know if its going to make it.

That sounds like one of those delicate "can't send a 'get well' card but it's too soon for a sympathy card! :-) Poor old friend, sounds like it may be time for an update. Hope you can get the kinks worked out or spring for a newer model. :-)

If you're like me, deserting an old friend (even though it may be an inanimate object)will be quite traumatic but I guess the good news is that the price of computers has come down so much that you can get a really good one relatively inexpensive - but how to show respect for something that served you so well - I know!
(Or maybe you don't feel that way at all and I am the only one who is a little crazy about things like that!)

Oh Beck, that is me to a "T!" This computer has GREAT sentimental value, to say the least.. so Im already dreading the day I pack it away.. yes, to keep.Im dreading the day I set a new one up in place of it. This was my very FIRST computer & for other reasons too.

It is a traumatic moment. It has been given it's death sentence this week.

Rach, Im afraid it's officially time for the sympathy card to come out.

I know! I "follow" you (some of the other reasons for the sadness). I was sad when we got rid of my old white car even though: there was no air, all the buttons were falling off, it made a weird buzzing noise, AND it left me sitting along side the road numerous times. Then there was our "first house". Can you believe I cried for two nights when we moved from a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom teeny, tiny trailer into our "spacious" 4 bedroom, 2 bath, brand new double wide with a jacuzzi, fireplace, dishwasher, skylights in the bathroom etc.? It's kind of like "I know [whatever item] is old and has become a piece of junk but it's MY piece of junk!

Girl, we "get" your reasons, we do, and while it doesn't fix the computer I hope it helps to know we care, we relate. The camera my dad bought me I finally got rid of when we married (after taking several pictures of it) because it hadn't worked for a very long time and I didn't want to carry a bunch of stuff around the rest of my life. But oh, it hurt to do so.
